Bio

Ms. Teci Jarnagin enters her third year as AME’s Master Montessori teacher. She has 30 years of teaching experience, ranging from preschool through 6th grade, in both private and charter Montessori campuses. Her children were both Montessori students, beginning when they were two years old, and now at 21 and 25 are at different stages in their life. Ms. Teci was introduced to the Montessori Method at the age of 16 in an ROP program through her high school. She completed the Montessori primary (3-6) training in 1987 and the 6-12 Elementary Montessori Training in 2007. Ms. Teci obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Management in Elementary Education in 2008, and her teaching credential in 2010.  She was the grade level curriculum lead for 8 years at her previous charter Montessori school. Ms. Teci offers her incredible knowledge and experience to AME with a contagious enthusiasm. She is fascinated by the child’s innate curiosity and desire to learn. Ms. Teci enjoys reading, camping with her family, and being involved in church activities.

  • Developed AME Spanish immersion program including all aspects of lesson planning and classroom delivery resulting in accelerated student learning
  • Designed and Implemented AME Summer Spanish immersion camps with rave reviews from parents and students
  • Teacher’s assistant and after school program coordinator at American Montessori Academy
  • Participated in CSU Stanislaus Mini-Corps program to improve ESL student literacy and classroom success across the subjects of Math, History, and Science

Bio

Ms. Lucia De La Torre celebrates her fifth year with AME. Ms. Lucia is head teacher of AME’s Spanish immersion program. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish from the University of Sacramento. In 2011 she was invited by Sombrero Time to train to teach their Spanish Immersion curriculum. Lucia has a natural gift for engaging her students in Spanish communication in a fun and creative way. Miss De La Torre’s students have demonstrated they are able to properly read, write, and speak Spanish at an accelerated rate. She is an enthusiastic teacher who is adored by the children in and out of the Spanish classroom. She has studied Montessori’s teaching materials and has become a strong support to the children during their workday. Over the summer months Miss Lucia offers an individually designed and successful Summer Spanish Immersion Program. AME has received very positive reviews from both parents and students with regard to Miss Lucia’s instructional success. Miss Lucia is very proud of her son, Miguel, and feels that he has prospered from his experience in Montessori. AME is very fortunate to have her support at AME.
